New engines are the headline news for the revised Porsche Boxster and Cayman, which also get some styling tweaks.
The basic Boxster sells from $113,000 and makes 188kW/290Nm, enough to propel it to 100km/h in 5.8 seconds using an average 8.9 litres of fuel per 100km. The Boxster S costs $140,400 and has 228kW/360Nm for a claimed 0-100km/h of 5.2 seconds and 9.2L/100km fuel use.
For $122,200 the entry-level Cayman makes 195kW/300Nm and can top 100km/h in 5.7 seconds, using 8.9L/100km. The Cayman S ($155,300) gets 235kW/370Nm and can reach 100km/h in 5.1 seconds using 9.2L/100km.
